The Department of MCA was established in 2006. The Masters in Computer Applications (MCA) course is designed to fulfill the needs of the rapidly evolving use of computer technology in every activity that affects our lives. This course would introduce graduates to some of the latest branches of Computer Science with a practical orientation. At the same time provides skills that are necessary for completion and management of large software projects. These skills would include analysis, documentation, testing and implementation planning.

In addition to this, the course would offer know-how of how businesses function, as well as promote technical communication skills. The intended objective of the Master's degree is to provide education for professionals in software development methodologies, techniques, qualities, and technologies valuable for various industry segments - education, government, marketing, business, manufacturing etc. Knowledge gained through this program should enable professionals to use information technology to solve problems of organizations and the society as a whole.
